Abstractions
With the present receding again and again, looking backwards, memories begin to extend beyond cognitive certainties into a subconscious sublime - thence recalled randomly via an emotional vine
Situated singularly on a cold concrete floor, a seat is salvation for toes and more, it’s occupants observing, in a pivoting way, an indoor installation on a quiet winter day
The tempest is past, silhouetted towers remain - sandwiched between sunset and residuals of rain
Mankind and nature dancing a tango of two, footprints soar stirringly in a surrealistic stew
Edges ripple across a plain with an apparent bite that just might explain the element of danger that’s potentially perceived without being properly handled or carefully received
Embracing existence, above and below - Twisting and turning, on a roll - Holding tightly, then letting go - Grasping newly, now in the know - Connecting consciously, not for show - Bringing empathy, a salve for woe - Lending a hand, feeling aglow
Tarnished timber on a shore, resting briefly then moving more ==> Taken by tide, origin unknown - floating freely, not nailed or owned ==> Knowing mostly sea or sand; no longer tethered to the land
Mortar mixtures blend with time to form collages of cement with lime ... and other ingredients such as shale and sand, or slate and clay from the land
Tomatoes tranched in ascending rows with reddened skin (reflectivity aglow) await their fate in a culinary role - be it sliced or diced or just eaten whole
Dots arranged in an array of lines, horizontal and vertical and diagonally aligned, cause a perforated portrayal of an outdoor scene - causing mystery about what’s beyond the screen
Wire woven into chains of steel form permeable portals both asymmetrical and surreal
Overlapping edges in a series are a sight when graphically growing in size to the right
For parallel planes will warp beyond belief as they conspire to create a puzzling relief
And when punctuated by a portal reaching for the sky, there are plenty tricks that perspective plays upon the eye
Carafes containing an essence of life will translucently transmit either serenity or strife
Perpendicular planes and ninety degrees form geometric shapes that subtly please
Cropped lines run infinitely out of sight while vertical faces bounce a majority of the light
With accentuated shading and contrast controlled, an abstraction is created to ponder or behold
A chance collision between utility and art is captured with a mobile while collecting a cart
If the veneered sheen of the limelight’s glow fractures in the face of some sort of reality below
A ceding of perfection need not be a resulting concern, for humility becomes available for others to discern
And once visible one’s vulnerability, in the face of it all, is a liberation from the fetter of fearing a fall
Is a mysterious manifestation in my mind simply a surrealistic synopsis of a creation in kind?
Sauce assumes a sinuous side with the assistance of spoon strokes and a swirling override
From ephemeral shadows set in stainless steel my mind finds a face amongst the surreal
Generally speaking suburban streets at night are somber in shadows etched from harsh electrical light
Machined in metal and mounted with screws, it’s hearty for heaving in a transient adieu
A perpendicular pillar projects its massive might which culminates in charcoal after a dalliance of damp delight
0202 markes a month and day in a delightfully symmetrical kind of way

But what of zero, it’s not just a void ... for two doesn’t become twenty until after it’s deployed
